Welcome back today’s cover reveal is the newest installment in the Steel City Genie series from author Janeen Ippolito. If you are new to my blog or maybe you just missed my posts on the first two books in this series you can find them here.
To Celebrate the cover reveal for book three Janeen has made the first and second books for on Amazon for a few days so grab them while you can. (Please verify prices before ordering, as free promotion may not carry over into all markets.)
And now introducing book three: Wishing Against the House.
My city is under attack by shadowfiends. Apparently, this is my fault, thanks to the family I’ve never met.
At least the attack interrupted my first couples therapy session with Cendric. Small blessings, right?
Then my long-lost dad—yeah, the one that’s supposed to be dead—shows up to tell me that the shadowfiends are controlled by Raith, an old family member who’s here to recharge his magical batteries by any means necessary, including destroying Pittsburgh and me. Oh, and centuries ago, Raith picked a fight with the local dragons, so they’re after me as well.
Now I have to learn my family’s magic, stop Raith’s path of destruction, and make nice with the dragons. Speaking of which, did I mention my oh-so-quiet secretary has eloped with one of the dragons’ worst enemies?
Personally, all I want for Christmas is to survive until New Year’s. And maybe, a vacation.

Is it really September already? Where has the year gone? I am just not ready for Summer to end yet. So today I’m helping reveal the cover for the most beachy, summer read I could find. Not only does it have a beautiful purple mermaid tail on the cover, it’s the newest release from one of my favorite publishers, Uncommon Universe Press.
Mermaids meet mental health in this light-hearted story of life, love, and learning to grow into who you were meant to be.
Their love is true…but is it real?
Fear of inheriting his father’s hallucinations and memory loss have brought Jacob’s life to a screeching halt at age nineteen. Now he spends his days alone on the beach behind his home, staring into the endless Hawaiian waves.
Mermaid Sevencea is eager to explore life above the water–and cheer up the handsome, lonely young man strolling on the shores. Forming a bond with him is as natural as swimming. All she needs are legs to walk beside him, so Sevencea disappears to trade for the necessary magic.
Yet when she returns, Jacob is gone, convinced she was a hallucination after all. And the more Sevencea searches for him, the more she doubts what they have will last.
Can love truly exist between land and sea?
A sweet YA mermaid-meets-human romance set within the lovely vistas of Hawaii.

So what are the Six Frosted Roses? Six Frosted Roses is the newest collection from the Arista Fairy-tale Retellers Facebook group. Every year this group votes on a fairy-tale to retell and every member is welcome to write their own interpretation of it. This year’s fairy-tale is Snow White and Rose Red.
If you are familiar with it that good for you. If you need a summary then here you go.
Snow White (No relation.) and her sister, Rose Red, live in the forest with their mother. One winter, a talking Bear comes to stay with them. In the summer he leaves and the girls try to follow him.
They meet a dwarf who got his beard caught in a tree and they save him. Then his beard is caught in a fishing line and they save him. Last of all he is picked up by an eagle and carried away, but they save him. Each time the dwarf is ungrateful and mean.
Soon they learn that their bear friend is actually a prince under a curse. The Dwarf cursed him to steal his treasure and the moral is you should never help ungrateful people because they were the villain of the story the whole time.
The bear kills the dwarf and breaks the curse. He askes Snow White to marry him but it’s okay, he has a brother that Rose Red can marry.
So why am I sharing this today? Three reasons:
One: all of these books are on a 99cent preorder offer, for this week only. Then the prices go up.
Two: They are all super pretty covers that deserve to be shown off.
Three: I wrote one of them! Yes the long awaited first novel from C.O. Bonham is coming and you can see the cover, back cover description and learn the release date right here. So let’s quickly go through the first five and I’ll save the best for last.

So one of my favorite genres is fairy tale retellings. Which is strange because I really value originality in my fiction. (It’s one of the reason’s that fan fiction doesn’t impress me much.) But sometimes having a formulaic plot to adhere to really lets the author shine by putting more of their energy into producing original characters and unique worldbuilding. (Actually I’m currently writing a fairy tale retelling.)
So when my friend RJ was looking for people to share the cover of her new frog prince retelling I jumped on it. RJ Conte is an amazing author who has a talent for writing relatable characters. I can’t wait to see what she brings to this timeless story.
Kiss a frog and get a dreamy prince – every princess’s recipe for happily ever after… right?
Not for Revelle, second daughter of the king of Aileh. This girl’s got no time for marriage. She’s got a secret dream of being queen.
When a mischievous Fairy brings a reluctant Revelle a prince cursed to be a frog, the princess does her duty and kisses him, but then she wants him gone. However, he’s a visiting royal far from home, and he has his eyes on winning her hand. She’s got to admit the handsome blond dude isn’t hard on the eyes, but she’s got other plans in the works – like convincing the council to be open to the idea of a female monarch next year when her father retires. Leon, former frog prince, seems to be turning out to be an eager ally, but his ideas about how their enemies in Fairy Reservation are being treated are messing with Revelle’s head. Seems like being queen AND getting the guy is impossible – or is it?
RJ Conte has kissed only one boy in her entire life – and she married him – inspiring her to write about sweet or powerful love stories ever since. She writes issue-driven fiction that explores human nature and the depths of the soul while pointing readers to their Creator.
Today I am hosting a cover reveal for The King’s Spell. This book is the first in a new series by E.J. Kitchens. The Realm and Wand series. This book also takes place in her Magic collectors universe, So if you’ve been following her magic collector book then you should like this addition.
I’m sure you’re tired of suspense so lets open right with the cover:
Only a king can banish sorcerers and strip enchanters of their power. Only a king is immune to spells and potions. Only a king knows the truth behind the legends. Until now.
Magic Collector Devryn Ashby may have deserved the curse that saps his magic-manipulating abilities, but it certainly won’t help him with the task King Reginald has assigned him. Instead of allowing him to continue hunting for those who stole the powerful Enchanter’s List, the king makes Devryn trainer-in-magic to the mischievous enchantress Lady Meredith Lofton.
Except for an occasional matchmaking exploit, Lady Meredith has little use for her power of enchantment—until the king asks her to train in magical warfare techniques. This both excites and terrifies her. And irks her, for she refuses to be bossed around by the critical Devryn Ashby, a man she’s not even sure she should trust.
But as dangers increase and the sorcerers’ schemes unfold, Devryn and Meredith must choose whom to follow—their own desires and prejudices or their king. Only a king knows how much the kingdom depends on their choice.
About the Author:
E.J. Kitchens loves tales of romance, adventure, and happily-ever-afters and strives to write such tales herself. When she’s not thinking about dashing heroes or how awesome bacteria are—she is a microbiologist after all—she’s enjoying the beautiful outdoors or talking about classic books and black-and-white movies. She is a member of Realm Makers and lives in Alabama.

I had the pleasure of beta reading this book and it was amazing. I’ll have a full review closer to the release date for you. But until then, rest assured that this cover is every bit as amazing as the story.
What is faith, except hope in desperation?

Then the prophecies come true.
Taken captive, Mikal must find a way to liberate his people and restore his throne in Maha—and the key to this is the Amok Strength. But what does it take to gain Kudus’ favour?

The Bear of Rosethorn Ring: A Snow White and Rose Red Story (Once Upon a Twist Tales, Book #4)
How far would Snow White and Rose Red go to save the man behind the bear?
When their father runs away, Marita and Diamond Kadlec realize how different twins can be. Marita’s ready to forget Lucas entirely, but Diamond wants to give him the second chance she’s never been able to give before. That’s before they discover that Lucas is indebted to the ill-tempered D’vard and his traveling circus, the Rosethorn Ring. The Ring’s entertainment lacks a bear, and Lucas must play the part of the savage creature to regain his freedom.
Lorcan D’vard cares only for three things: tending to his beloved beard, promoting his Rosethorn Ring, and eradicating the assassin out to kill him. With time running out, D’vard agrees to cancel Lucas’s debt and let him go free – if Marita and Diamond can apprehend the assassin before the assassin ends the show.
This is Snow White and Rose Red with a twist like you’ve never seen it before!

About the Author:
Kirsten Fichter is a twenty-something Christian writer who loves being the wife to her favorite person ever, mommy to two precious blessings, a piano enthusiast, a dragon buff, a serious bookworm, and an INFP synesthete. Fairytales have always fascinated her, and she has made it her goal to rewrite as many as possible and become known as the “Grimm Dickens” (i.e. mixing Grimm fairytales with a Dickens style). She is present in many online circles under the name “Kiri Liz” if you care about things like that. As you read this, she’ll be somewhere under a maple tree – trying very hard to finish the seventeen and half other stories she unwisely started all at once.
I’m excited to join in the Cover Reveal of Secrets in the Mist by Morgan L Busse releasing from Enclave publishing in August 2021! This is the first book in the YA steampunk Skyworld duology and is available to preorder in Limited-Edition Hardcover.
I absolutely loved The Soul Chronicles, Busse’s previous foray into the Steampunk genre. While it looks like Secrets in the Mist is going to take place in a new story world it looks like it will have a similar dark tone. And I’m sure it will have more of Busse’s deep character development and attention to world building.
The cover was designed by Emilie Hendryx, who you can find on instagram as @createexploreread, and it is spectacularly steampunk.
Secrets in the Mist by Morgan L. Busse. Sky world: book one.
What’s lurking in the Mist is the least of their worries…
In a world where humanity lives in the sky to escape a deadly mist below, Cass’s only goal is survival. That is, until she finds a job on the airship Daedalus as a diver. Now she explores ruined cities, looking for treasure and people’s lost heirlooms until a young man hires her to find the impossible: a way to eradicate the Mist.
Theodore Winchester is a member of one of the Five Families that rule the skies. Following in his father’s footsteps, he searches for the source of the deadly Mist and hopes to stop the purges used to control overpopulation. But what he finds are horrifying secrets and lethal ambition. If he continues his quest, it could mean his own death.
The Mist is rising and soon the world will be enveloped in its deadly embrace, turning what’s left of humanity into the undead.
Since I know that the Facebook preview image (If you came here by way of there) already spoiled the cover reveal for you I’m just going to lead with the lovely cover image for this exciting new book, that you can preorder now.
All Josie Framer wants is a man with fire magic—and to find the truth-knife that’s rightfully hers.
However, neither of these quests are going well.
After her latest date-turned-disaster, she’s almost ready to give up—when she happens along the blade on the way home. Unfortunately, reclaiming her property makes her target of the Arcane Market, a nefarious underground trafficking ring for magical artifacts and magical beings.
To make things worse, she keeps running into Oliver Salamandras, a dangerously attractive fire elemental who’s on the run from his own hunters. Getting involved with him means more trouble. Plus he has enough baggage for an aircraft carrier.
If only he wasn’t just what she’s looking for–right at the worst possible moment.
Faced with deadly foes and an irresistible stranger, a woman might just do something crazy. Drastic. Life-changing.
Buy now and enjoy a humorous paranormal romance with a side of twisty plot. Features a sensible firebird shifter with a feisty side, a rascally fire elemental with a tragic side, and a completely adorable wolf pup. Clean PG-13 – there’s heat, danger, and fighting, but nothing graphic.
The Arcane Market Adventures is a two-book companion duology to The Steel City Genie urban fantasy series. Best read alongside that series and great as a springboard.
